Nakivale Praise Tour

The Nakivale Refugee Settlement, located in Isingiro District—186.4 miles southwest of Kampala, holds the distinction of being the oldest refugee camp in Africa, accommodating approximately 180,000 refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Somalia. A significant 76% of the camp’s population comprises women and children who confront critical challenges such as unemployment, sexual exploitation, depression, and inadequate access to essential resources including food, clean water, sanitation, and healthcare

In response to these pressing issues, the Nakivale Praise Tour is designed to extend the love of Christ to this marginalized community. This annual initiative encompasses a week of community outreach activities aimed at delivering psycho-social support to over 500 individuals. It also includes youth seminars that engage more than 300 young people, culminating in a praise rally that attracts over 900 attendees. The Nakivale Praise Tour plays a crucial role in fostering hope and support within the settlement, addressing both spiritual and practical needs
